How does a beacon work?
A beacon is a small computer that consists of a CPU, radio and batteries. It works by repeated broadcasting out an identifier. This identifier in the form of radio waves is picked up by a nearby device. This identifier has a unique ID which the nearby device recognizes the beacon by which it transmits the necessary preprogrammed features and functions.
